# Adfox placement on AMP pages

With the number of mobile users constantly growing, browsers offer new solutions to streamline the loading of mobile sites. However, such solutions put a number of restrictions on ad tag placement.

In this article, we'll look at options for placing ads using Adfox on AMP-enabled web pages.

**AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages)** is a technology that lets you create mobile sites that load and run fast. AMP imposes restrictions on the use of external components, so to integrate ads on such pages, you need to use special AMP units available in Adfox and in the Yandex Advertising Network interface.

Adfox is listed as a supported platform by the [AMP Project](https://www.ampproject.org/support/faqs/supported-platforms).

Specifics of Adfox ad placement on AMP pages:

- Use only predefined banner types labeled “AMP”.
- Ad tags must be designed for placements with the “AMP” code format.
- You can use the following formats for creating banners:
    - [Banner Image](https://www.yandex.com/support/adfox/en/banners/specs/banner-image.md)
    - [Banner HTML](https://www.yandex.com/support/adfox/en/banners/specs/banner-html5.md)
    - [Banner Slider](https://www.yandex.com/support/adfox/en/banners/specs/banner-slider.md)
    - [Adfox code forwarding](https://www.yandex.com/support/adfox/en/banners/specs/adfox-code-transfer.md)
    - [Code forwarding](https://www.yandex.com/support/adfox/en/banners/specs/code-transfer.md)

- Templates have predefined widths and heights. When an image is loaded to a banner, the image size and the banner width/height are checked.

- You can't place formats that overflow the parent element, for example: Fullscreen, Background, Banner Line, pop-up, banner expand, and others.

## Step 1. Create ad placements and get the ad tag {#settings}

On the **Settings** → **Banner types** → **Predefined** → **Nondimensional** tab, banner types labeled **AMP** are added. You can select them for creating your placements and banners.

1. Create the structure of the site, sections, and placements using banner types labeled **AMP**.

   {% note info %}

   If you plan to place ads on a site under a contract with an advertiser or agency to display them in Russia and transfer data about these ad impressions to the Russian state register (ERIR) through the Yandex advertising data operator, then, before adding the site, enter information about the contractor (site owner) in the **Marking** tab. For more information, see [How to register creative content in Adfox](https://www.yandex.com/support/adfox/en/labeling/token.md).

   {% endnote %}
   <!-- endsource: en/_includes/sites/site-structure/labeling-note.md -->

1. When you get the tag in the Adfox interface, the `AMP` option will be automatically selected in the **Code type** field.

    **Width**, **Height**: Enter the placement dimensions on the site page. Make sure to enter dimensions for any AMP banner type, including AMP Adaptive.

When using [ad tags from the site level](https://www.yandex.com/support/adfox/en/ad-inventory/codes/get-code.md#site-code) and [targeting by page URL](https://www.yandex.com/support/adfox/en/targeting/url.md), please contact [support](https://www.yandex.com/support/adfox/en/support/feedback.md) to connect to the account of the **Referer Override** module.

## Step 2. Add campaigns and banners {#add-campaign}

Before adding your first campaign, [create an advertiser](https://www.yandex.com/support/adfox/en/settings/users/advertiser.md).

The advertiser will get credentials (login and password) to access statistics of campaigns where they are specified as an advertiser.

<!-- source: en/_includes/campaigns/add-new/labeling-note.md -->
{% note info %}

If you're creating a campaign under a contract with an advertiser or agent to place ads for display in Russia and plan to report these ad impressions to the Russian state register through the Yandex advertising data operator, then before creating a campaign, specify data about the contractors and the contract with the end advertiser in the **Marking** tab. For more information, see [How to register creative content in Adfox](https://www.yandex.com/support/adfox/en/labeling/token.md).

{% endnote %}
<!-- endsource: en/_includes/campaigns/add-new/labeling-note.md -->

#### 2.1 Add a campaign {#section_xjw_r42_mfb}

1. Go to the **Campaigns** tab and press **Create**.
1. Set the [ad campaign parameters](https://www.yandex.com/support/adfox/en/campaigns/add-new.md).
1. Select a site, section, or placement where you want to run your campaign and click **Save**.

#### 2.2 Add banners {#add-campaign}

Before adding banners, prepare your advertising materials.

Not all banner formats can be used on mobile AMP pages, but only those listed below. The format name contains a link to the technical requirements for ads and describes the rules for adding them to the Adfox interface.

- [Banner Image](https://www.yandex.com/support/adfox/en/banners/specs/banner-image.md)
- [Banner HTML](https://www.yandex.com/support/adfox/en/banners/specs/banner-html5.md)
- [Banner Slider](https://www.yandex.com/support/adfox/en/banners/specs/banner-slider.md)
- [Adfox code forwarding](https://www.yandex.com/support/adfox/en/banners/specs/adfox-code-transfer.md)
- [Code forwarding](https://www.yandex.com/support/adfox/en/banners/specs/code-transfer.md)

1. Go to the **Banners** tab and press **Create**.
1. Select the **AMP** banner type that you used to create the ad placement for the banner.
1. Select the ad format.
1. Specify the banner parameters and upload the advertising materials that you prepared.
1. If necessary, add the [automatic “Ad” label](https://www.yandex.com/support/adfox/en/labeling/ad-label.md) and indicate the advertiser.
1. If you chose to **Submit data to state register** at the ad campaign level, add the creative data in the **Advertising labeling** section. For more information, see [How to register creative content in Adfox](https://www.yandex.com/support/adfox/en/labeling/token.md).
1. Click **Add**.

You can set up [targeting](https://www.yandex.com/support/adfox/en/targeting/index.md) for your campaign or banner if you want.

{% note info %}

When filling out the banner parameters, be sure that the width and height of the banner images must match the placement size.

{% endnote %}

## Step 3. Enable monetization {#connect-to-monetization}

For **AMP** placements, you can use [Monetization](https://www.yandex.com/support/adfox/en/monetization/index.md) from the Yandex Advertising Network.

1. In your Adfox account, go to the **Monetization** tab and link your Yandex Advertising Network login.
1. Go to the **Display Advertising** tab. Select the placement that you want to link your Yandex Advertising Network unit to.

    By default, the ad unit is linked to the placement identified by the banner type and position in all sections of the site. However, if you need to link the placement to different units for different site sections, click **Show sections** and link the units directly to the placement in the desired section.

1. Click ![](../_images/add.svg) and select a placement in the Yandex Advertising Network that you need to create a unit for.

   Set up a new [Banner](https://yandex.com/support2/partner/en/web/units/types/banner#banner__add) unit. In the **Size** field, select the format that matches the placement's dimensions in Adfox.

   #|
   || **Adfox banner type** | **Display advertising format in the Yandex Advertising Network** ||
   || 300 × 250 AMP | 300 × 250 ||
   || 300 × 300 AMP | 300 × 300 ||
   || AMP Adaptive | Custom. The width and height for the custom unit must not exceed the dimensions specified when obtaining the ad tag in the Adfox interface. ||
   |#

   As a result, an ad unit will be created, and the unit ID will appear in the **YAN block ID** column.
