Location
During installation, Yandex Browser asks for permission to use your location information. You can allow or disallow using this data.
By default, your region is determined by the location of your smartphone.
How is the location data used?
- Sites can show you the most relevant information (for example, the local weather, traffic info, or a map).
- The SmartBox shows more accurate search suggestions (for example, about the weather).
- Settings show a list of search engines used in your region.
- The Tableau displays a default collection of sites for your region.
Set the search region manually
Based on the country, the browser determines the set of search engines used there. Based on the city, it shows you the weather forecast, traffic info, maps, and search suggestions.
Note
If you chose your own search engine and pinned your own sites to the Tableau, changing your region will not affect these settings.

Disable the Auto detect option.

Tap Select manually.

Start entering the name of the city, then select your city from the list.
