Protect: security icons

Connection status icons help you understand how secure a website is:

Icon Description
Uses the HTTPS protocol, which protects data being sent by encrypting it. If you see this icon in the SmartBox, you may enter confidential information (for example, your bank card number) on this site.
Secure data transmission on the page is not guaranteed. For example, because the site’s certificate has been revoked or has expired.
An unprotected HTTP protocol is used (data is sent without encryption). We do not recommend entering any personal information (especially your payment data) on such sites, as hackers can easily steal it.

Uses the HTTPS protocol, which protects data being sent by encrypting it. If you see this icon on the panel, you may enter confidential information (for example, your bank card number) on this site.

There is no certainty that your data is sent securely. This icon may appear if:

  • the form on the page sends data over the HTTP protocol without encryption;
  • the publisher of a locally installed certificate is not known to Yandex;
  • images load over an unsecure protocol, even though the page uses HTTPS.

Antishock has blocked some of the page content.

Secure data transmission on the page is not guaranteed. For example, because the site’s certificate has been revoked or has expired.
