Stories

You can add stories to you company card. Stories are images with a text overlay where you can share your news and services.

Create stories about your company, give directions, or demonstrate what makes your products and services special. You can add buttons to a story: it needs to have a name and a redirect link.

Post requirements

  • Format: JPG, PNG.
  • Resolution: from 100×68 pixels to 5000×5000 pixels.
  • Aspect ratio: any size. The image is adjusted to fit the screen.
  • File size: unlimited.
  • Number of photos per story: up to 10.
  • Maximum number of stories to upload: unlimited.
  • Maximum number of stories for display: 10 most recent ones.

All stories need to pass moderation, which happens within 2–4 hours after a story is published. Before posting, study the publication rules carefully.

Publication rules

The text and keywords in stories should be meaningful, and the links must lead to the company's website or social media.

You can't use:

  • Slang, rude, and colloquial expressions.
  • Profanity.
  • Offensive language, threats, aggressive calls to action, or calls for cruelty or violence.
  • Materials that foster negativity toward behavioral norms, products, services, or other businesses.
  • Shocking or repulsive content.
  • Pornographic materials.
  • Political appeals or propaganda.
  • False information or intentionally deceptive statements.
  • Distressing words or phrases.
  • Personal data.
  • The Yandex brand.
  • Information on prohibited topics.

Manage stories

In the Yandex Business account

  1. On the Businesses page, select a company.
  2. Go to About the business → Stories.
  3. Click New story.
  4. Create a story.
  5. Add a Name, which will be displayed below the story. You can't publish a story without a name.
  6. Click Publish. Stories under moderation are shown only in the personal account and have the Moderation in progress status.

The story status changes in 2–4 hours:

  • Published: If the story passed moderation.
  • Rejected: If the story doesn't meet the publication rules. Edit the story and submit it for publication again.

Note

Owners and Representatives can publish a story only in one or all branches of a chain.

  1. On the Businesses page, select a company.

  2. Go to About the business → Stories.

  3. Change the order and content of your stories:

    Swap

    In the upper-left part of the page, click Change order to swap the stories.

    Edit

    1. Hover over a story card and click .
    2. Edit the cover, text, or image, or change the number or order of slides in the story.
    3. Click Publish. The story will be submitted for moderation again.

Note

Owners and Representatives can delete stories.

  1. On the Businesses page, select a company.
  2. Go to About the business → Stories.
  3. Hover over a story card and click .

In Yandex Maps

  1. Go to the company profile in Yandex Maps.
  2. In the Stories section, click Add story.
  3. Create a story.
  4. Add a Name, which will be displayed below the story. You can't publish a story without a name.
  5. Click Publish. The story will appear in your profile once approved by moderators.

  1. Go to the company profile in Yandex Maps and select a story.
  2. Click the three dots and select Edit.
  3. Make edits and click Save.

Note

Owners and Representatives can delete stories.

  1. Go to the company profile in Yandex Maps and select a story.
  2. Click the three dots and select Edit.
  3. Click Delete story.

Some business categories can use templates to create stories with specific content.

Stories with directions

Limitation

Stories with directions can't contain ads or other irrelevant details.

Directions are always displayed first. They show customers how to find you.

Use arrows and captions to make directions clearer.

How to add a story

To add a story with directions, go to Stories → Directions → Add story.

Why is my story gone?

A story can be deleted when:

  • It didn't pass moderation, because it violates the publication rules. You can find rejected stories in the full list of stories in your account. They have a special label.
  • It was deleted by an Owner or Representative.
  • You've reached the maximum number of stories for display. Yandex Maps displays only 10 most recent stories. When you add a new one, the oldest story is deleted.
I can't add a story. What should I do?

Check if you confirmed your rights to the company. If your account was created less than six hours ago, wait for a few hours.

My company has moved. Can I add a story?

You can't add a story for a company that has moved. Add a story to the new profile.
