How to enable database optimization
Database optimization helps speed up Direct Commander. Optimization is enabled by default and starts automatically when you close the program.
To disable or re-enable optimization:

In the program's main menu, click File → Settings.

Disable or enable the option Optimize database before exiting in the Settings window.

Click Apply.

Click Direct Commander → Settings.

Disable or enable the option Optimize database before exiting in the Settings window.
