# How to change Direct Commander data folder

Follow these steps to change the folder where Direct Commander saves data.

1. In the program's main menu, select **File** → **Settings**.

1. In the **Settings** window that opens up, click **Select folder**.

1. Select a folder and click **Apply**.

Data will be moved to the new folder after Direct Commander restarts.
