Delete files and folders

  1. Restore files and folders from Trash
  2. Empty the Trash
  3. Clear your Yandex Disk

To delete a file or folder, select them and click Delete in the upper panel or context menu.

If there is no Delete button on the upper panel, click  → Delete.

Files deleted from Yandex Disk end up in the Trash and still take up space. They're automatically deleted in 30 days. To free up space, empty the Trash manually.

Restore files and folders from Trash

You can only restore deleted files and folders while they're still in the Trash:

  1. Open the Trash folder.
  2. Select the necessary files or folders.
  3. In the upper panel, click Restore.
Attention. Once files are deleted from the Trash (automatically or manually), we can't restore them since emptying the Trash erases its contents from Yandex servers forever.

Empty the Trash

Files in the Trash still take up space on Yandex Disk. There are two ways to empty the Trash:

  1. Open the Trash folder.
  2. Click Empty Trash.
Attention. Once files are deleted from the Trash (automatically or manually), we can't restore them since emptying the Trash erases its contents from Yandex servers forever.

Clear your Yandex Disk

If you need to clear your Yandex Disk completely, select all folders and files, delete them, and then empty the Trash.

Attention. If you clear your Yandex Disk, you won't be able to restore the deleted files.
