Switch to another account

If you use several Yandex accounts, you can switch between them without entering your username and password:

You can choose an account in Yandex Disk, Yandex Mail, and other Yandex services that support this feature. The selected account becomes your primary one: it is used to authorize you in services that don't support switching yet.

You can add no more than 15 Yandex IDs to the list. To remove an account from the list, switch to that account and follow the Log out link. The current username disappears from the list and you automatically switch to the next one.

To remove multiple accounts from the list, follow Add account, click the icon in the upper left corner and then Log out to the right of the account you want to remove.

Log out of Yandex Disk

Open the account menu in the upper-right corner of the screen and click Log out.

If you forgot to log out of Yandex Disk on someone else's device, open Yandex ID and click Log out on all devices under Sign in and device history.

Attention. To further access Yandex services, you will need to re-enter your username and password on each device.

Data transfer from another cloud storage

To transfer data to your Yandex Disk from another cloud storage, download it to your computer, and then upload it to your Yandex Disk.

The easiest way to do this is using the Yandex Disk desktop program. It supports large amounts of data, pauses and resumes downloads when you have connection problems, and lets you download files via a special folder on your computer.

How to transfer data using the Yandex Disk desktop program:

  1. Download files from the cloud to your computer.
  2. Install and open the Yandex Disk desktop program.
  3. Log in to your Yandex account to transfer files.
  4. Drag and drop the files into the program window or the “Yandex Disk” folder on your computer.
  5. Wait for the upload to finish.

For more information about the Yandex Disk desktop program, see Yandex Disk for desktop.

What happens if I don't use my Yandex Disk for a long time?

If you don't log in to or use your Yandex Disk for more than two years, it may be blocked, and your data may be deleted.

Notification about blocking

We'll notify you in advance if you're about to be blocked. For seven days after receiving the notification, you can unblock your account on your own. Just log in to Yandex Disk.

Yandex Disk block

If you don't log in to Yandex Disk within seven days of receiving the notification, your Yandex Disk will be blocked. You'll then have three months to remove the restriction. We'll send you regular reminders that your data is going to be deleted so you have time to unblock your Yandex Disk.

To remove the restriction and regain full access to your Yandex Disk:
  1. Contact support. Specify the blocked account login in the email.
  2. Wait for the reply, and we will unblock your Yandex Disk.
Attention. If you don't unblock your Yandex Disk, all the files stored on it will be deleted permanently after three months.

Delete a Yandex Disk account

Yandex Disk is enabled by default for all Yandex users and can't be disabled. This makes it impossible to delete a Yandex Disk account. But you can remove all files on Yandex Disk and stop using it. In this case, you still can access other Yandex services (for example, Yandex Mail).

If you want to delete the entire Yandex account, read the article Deleting your account. In this case, all of your data across all Yandex services is deleted and you lose access to these services.
