How to make a product description correctly
Why do I need a description?
The description helps the buyer to imagine the product. It tells you what the product is good for, how to use it, and who it will suit.
Description requirements
- The market recommends filling in 500 characters or more so that the card receives quality points. The maximum length is 6000 characters.
- Do not advertise the product and your offer in the description. Do not use the words "sale", "promotion", "free", "special price" and so on.
- Do not specify the price, region, payment methods, delivery, contact information.
- Do not duplicate the product characteristics in the description (for example, weight, dimensions or country of origin).
- Do not place links in the description.
- Do not ask the buyer to read the detailed description of the product in another source.
- Don't use swear words.
- Do not use emojis in the description.
- Do not fill the description with keywords for search engine optimization (for example, "smart watches, buy children's watches, wristwatches"), otherwise it will be impossible to read it. To promote products, use the tools of the Market — for example, launch a sales boost or participate in promotions. All tools are described in the section Promotion.
How to make a good description
- Tell us about the product in simple and understandable language. For example, instead of "the washing machine provides a class A washing level with a shorter cycle time and has many washing modes", you can write that this washing machine has five modes for washing different delicate fabrics and you can wash things in it in half an hour.
- Tell us how the product is useful and what problem the buyer can solve. Give examples: the mouse for gamers runs on a battery charge for 50 hours and is very quiet — it does not make annoying clicks.
- Tell us honestly about the product, do not miss important details. For example, if your product is a smartwatch that does not have a menu in Russian, warn about it in the description to avoid negative reviews.
- To make the text easier to read, divide it into parts: use tags

and<p>
to transfer a line.

Questions and answers
Is it possible to mention other people's brands in the description?
It is possible if it helps to describe the characteristics of the product. For example, you can specify that the perfume sold is similar in smell to some other perfumes known to customers.
You cannot compare a product with others or call it an analogue of others.
