How to sell goods in several pieces

Products on the Market can be sold in several pieces if you set their minimum quantity in the order or assign a sales quantum. If the minimum number of goods is set, the buyer will not be able to order less, if a quantum is set, he will be able to add only a multiple of the number of goods to the order.

For example, if the sales quantum is 5, the buyer will be able to add 5, 10, 15, etc. pieces of goods to the cart, but 1, 2 or 7 will not be able to. This rule is valid as long as there are enough items in stock.

The minimum number of items in the order and the sale quanta are useful if it is not profitable for you to sell one at a time — for example, this often happens with inexpensive goods.

Billing of sales by quantum

Some services are charged by the Market on the basis of sales quanta, and not on the basis of product units:

• average mile (FBY);
• delivery to the buyer's locality (FBS);
• delivery to the buyer (Express).

Example

You sell wet wipes for 300 rubles using the Express model.

Delivery costs 6% of the price, but not less than 80 ₽ and not more than 500 ₽.

If the buyer takes 5 packs, the fee will be calculated as follows: 6% of 300 rubles — 18 rubles, and the minimum cost for the delivery of one product is 80 rubles, which means that in total you will pay 80 × 5 = 400 rubles.	If the buyer takes 5 packs (quantum), the fee will be calculated as follows: 6% of 1500 rubles — the amount of the sale of the entire quantum, that is, 90 rubles.

Quantum and minimum quantity of goods

The quantum of sale and the minimum quantity are the parameters of the product. You can set them together or separately from each other.

Both parameters are set for each store. The minimum quantity of the product must be divided into a quantum without remainder. If you set only the minimum quantity, but do not specify the quantum, the Market services will be charged as usual — for each product in the order.

The setting will not be applied immediately — it usually happens within 3-6 hours. If you set new values, the update will take the same time.

Limitations

• You can set up one quantum per product in each store. The quanta may vary from store to store.
• For some product categories, you cannot set the value of the quantum and the minimum number of products above the limit set by the Market. If you specify the values above, the product will be hidden from the showcase. View the list of categories

Not all products are ready for buyers to order several pieces at a time, so including a minimum quantity or a quantum of sale may reduce the conversion to an order. Carefully calculate the demand so that the revenue does not decrease due to the sale of goods in several pieces.
