How to make names correctly

Why the name is important

  • A clear and informative name attracts the buyer and increases the chances of buying in your store.

  • The Market's search robot is guided by the product names. If a customer searches for a phone by model number, they will see offers with this model listed in the names.

For clothes, shoes and accessories

The names that the seller specifies when creating the product help to find the product in the search, but the buyer does not see them. The names compiled by the Market are used on the cards.

Name requirements

Together we make cards so that it is convenient and pleasant for customers to choose

The optimal length of the name is 60-120 characters. The more precise and simpler the name, the more likely your product will be chosen by the buyer.

  • Make up the name according to the scheme: product type + manufacturer + product (model) + important characteristics. For example: "Smart speaker Yandex Station Mini without a watch with Alice on YandexGPT, blue sapphire".
  • Name the product in the singular if it is not sold as a pair or a set.
  • If there are several product variants that differ in some way - for example, color, size, or memory capacity — this attribute must be indicated in the name so that all the names of the variants are unique.
  • Try to make the name easy and understandable to understand.
  • Use well-known model names (for example, written large on the box or mentioned in advertising).
  • Place the capital letters in the way it is customary in Russian. Write the first word of the name with a capital letter and all other words with a small one — unless it is a proper name.
  • Write down the numbers in digits, even single digits. If necessary, specify the units of measurement.
  • Try to avoid grammatical and spelling mistakes.

What is not allowed:

  • Do not advertise the product and your offer in the name. Do not use the words "sale", "promotion", "free shipping", "quality assurance" and so on.
  • Do not add an advertising appeal to the name — for example, the word "buy".
  • Do not include a subjective assessment in the title: "hot novelty", "incredible product", "bestseller" and so on.
  • Do not praise the product with superlative words: "the fastest", "the best" and so on.
  • Do not include extraneous information in the name, for example, about the assortment of the store.
  • Do not specify the price, terms of sale, delivery and warranty, country of manufacture, store name, contact information.
  • Do not use foreign words unless they are part of the brand or product name.
  • Do not write in transliteration.
  • Don't write in big letters. The exception is abbreviations and brands that spell themselves in capital letters.
  • HTML and non-breaking spaces do not work in the names.
  • Do not use symbols to decorate the text and make the name more noticeable.
  • Don't use swear words.
