How to edit product information
The instructions on this page tell you how to change the parameters that all products have, regardless of the category. For example, the name, description, country of manufacture, and so on.
If you need to change a category—specific parameter, such as the type of bike frame or the size of the tablet screen, read the section Working with the product card.
Important rules
Do not edit the product in the cabinet if automation is enabled
If you use auto-update or API, edit products using these tools, and not in your account or via Excel. Otherwise, the corrections will be canceled at the next automatic data update.
Pay special attention to this if different employees work with the office and automation tools.
Example
The store manager instructed the manager to change the name of the product. The Market receives product data automatically from the YML file available at the link.
The employee opened the office, changed the name and saved the changes.
The next time you download the YML file, Market will detect the previous name in it and return it. To avoid this, you need to change the product name in the YML file.

Do not replace the product with another one through editing
Do not edit the information if you need to replace one product with another — for example, change the phone model or the size of the duvet cover.
In such a situation, you do not need to edit the product information, but delete the old one (if it is not needed) and add a new one to the catalog. How to add products
Why?
Each product has its own card in the catalog. It collects customer reviews and ratings, and the Market compares the actual dimensions of the product with the data on it.
For example, your offer of a model A phone is displayed on your own card, and customers have left several reviews about this model.
If you change the product name and description to Model B, the other data on the card will not change. People will see reviews of the model A, and order the product, thinking that they will receive it. The number of refunds will increase, and there will be confusion when processing and delivering such orders due to the fact that the actual product and the product on the card are different.
How to edit
On the product page in the cabinet
- Choose Products → Catalog.
- Find the desired product in the list and click on its name.
- The product page opens — edit everything you need on it.
- Click Save.
Using an Excel file
If you use Excel templates to add products, you can update product information through them.
Please note: you can choose which product parameters will be updated. This mechanism allows you to change specific characteristics without fear of accidentally hitting others.
- Choose Products → Catalog.
- Use filters to select the desired products.
- In the upper right corner, click Download → Product file.
- When the file is generated and downloaded, open it and make all the necessary changes.
- Upload the file back to the Market. It is at this stage that you can choose which parameters to update.
Warning
Do not use old files stored on your computer to download updated data. Always download the current version of the file from the Market and edit it already. Otherwise, outdated data may get into the catalog by mistake.
