Voice input

Use voice input to type messages faster when you're on the go.

1. Tap and hold the right area of the space bar with the microphone icon and release it to turn on dictation mode.

2. Dictate your text. The keyboard will take care of the punctuation marks. You can't disable automatic punctuation.

3. To finish dictation, tap the space bar.

When you first activate voice input, Yandex Keyboard requests permission to access the microphone. Voice input won't work without access to the microphone. Yandex doesn't use the device's microphone for other purposes.

If you dictate an offensive word, Yandex Keyboard will replace it with asterisks or [censored].

To disable offensive word blocking:

1. Tap and hold the  icon next to the space bar and select  .

2. Go to Personalization.

3. Disable Block offensive words.

If tapping on the space bar moves the cursor, it means that voice input is disabled. To enable it:

1. Tap and hold the  icon next to the space bar and select  .

2. Tap Gestures and voice → Voice input.
