Change password
You can change your password in the full version of Yandex.Mail (see How do I change my password or the answer to my security question?).
Set up the email client
Using the Yandex.Mail web interface isn't the only way you can access your mailbox. Download and install the Yandex.Mail mobile app (Android or iOS) on your smartphone or use a pre-installed email client. To do this, enable the IMAP or POP3 protocol in your mailbox settings and then set up the email client following the instructions for your platform.
If you configure your mail client via POP3, all the messages that are available in the web interface will be downloaded to your phone. Use the "Save a copy of the email to the server" option if your mail client provides it. You can't enable this option in the Yandex.Mail web interface settings.
- Please enter your email address and password (or the application password if you have two-factor authentication enabled) and tap Next.
- Set the account type to IMAP.
Enter the following information:
- Server: imap.yandex.com
- Port: 993
- Security type: SSL/TLS
Tap Next.
Enter the following information:
- SMTP server: smtp.yandex.com
- Port: 465
- Security type: SSL/TLS
Enable the Log in to the system option, type your username and password, and tap Next.
Specify how frequently you want to check your Inbox folder and enable the appropriate options. Tap Next.
Specify the account name and your name for outgoing messages. Tap Next.
- Specify your name for outgoing messages.
- Please enter your email address and password (or the application password if you have two-factor authentication enabled).
- Specify the account name. Tap Next.
- Select Mail. Tap Save.
- Go to.
- Tap add service.
- Tap advanced.Attention. Note that if you accidentally tap another account instead of advanced, your email client won't be configured properly.
- Set the account type to Internet mail:.
- Please enter your email address and password (or the application password if you have two-factor authentication enabled). Tap Next.
- Enter the following information:
- Your name (for outgoing messages).
- Incoming mail server: imap.yandex.com:993.
- Account type: IMAP4.
- Your username.
- Your password.
- Outgoing mail server: smtp.yandex.com:465.
Tap advanced settings and enable the following options:
- Outgoing mail server requires user authentication.
- Use the same username and password for sending mail.
- Incoming mail requires SSL.
- Outgoing mail requires SSL.
Tap Log in.
Enable notifications
Tap the icon in the top left corner of the screen, tap Settings under the list of folders and enable the Notifications option.
Add an avatar to your Yandex.Mail account
You can change your profile picture in Yandex.Passport (see Picture).
Change your first name, last name, gender, or year of birth
To change the personal information you entered when creating a Yandex account, do the following:
- Go to Yandex.Passport.
- Tap Edit personal information.
- Make the necessary changes.
- Tap Save.
Create your own folders
You can create your own folders in the full version of Yandex.Mail (see Folders).
Change your sender name and signature
You can change your sender name and signature in the full version of Yandex.Mail (see Changing names and Signature).
Change the interface language
You can change the interface language in the full version of Yandex.Mail (see How can I change the language in Yandex.Mail language?).
Organize mailing lists
If you receive subscriptions in your Inbox folder, Yandex.Mail can help you organize them. Divide all your subscriptions into the ones you read and the ones you don't read. Email from mailing lists you do read will arrive in your Inbox, while new email from the mailing lists you don't read will be automatically sent to the Trash folder.
View all your subscriptions
- Tap
in the upper left corner.
- Tap Settings under the list of folders.
- Choose Manage mailing lists.
You will see all of your mailing lists on the Active tab. To view recent messages from a specific address, tap on it.
Move emails to the Trash folder
- On the Active tab, select the subscriptions you want to hide. New emails from these addresses will be automatically sent to the Trash folder.
- Tap Hide <number> mailing lists.
- Enable the Delete old emails option if you want to move old messages from the selected addresses from Inbox to Trash .
- Tap Hide <number> mailing lists.
Receive emails in Inbox again
- Open the Hidden tab.
- Mark the subscriptions you want to read. New emails from these addresses will arrive in your Inbox folder.
- Tap Activate <number> subscriptions.
- Confirm activation.
Configure mail importing or email filters
You can configure the mail importer to forward email from another mailbox, and set up email filters in the full version of Yandex.Mail.
