Setting up filters in the app

By setting rules for incoming emails in the Yandex Mail app, you can automatically:

  • Sort emails by relevant folders and label them.
  • Mark messages as read.
  • Delete certain messages upon receipt.

Create a filter

  1. Pull the screen to the right.

  2. Under the list of folders and labels, tap Settings.

  3. Select the account for which you want to set rules.

  4. Select Rules for processing emails.

  5. Tap Create rule.

  6. Set the conditions:

    • Sender contains: Specify the senders' email addresses or names. This will filter messages from senders whose email addresses or names you have specified;
    • Subject contains: Specify words or phrases. This will filter messages with the specified words or phrases in the subject field.

    Specify whether you want both conditions to be met simultaneously: choose All conditions are met or At least one condition is met.

  7. In Actions, select what you want to do with the filtered messages: move them to a folder, label, mark as read, or delete.

  8. If you want to apply a rule both to new messages and messages that are already in your mailbox, tap Apply to existing emails.

  9. Tap Create rule.

Creating a rule automatically

If you regularly move similar emails to the same folder, Yandex Mail may suggest creating a rule. For example, if you move emails with receipts from Yandex Market to the "Receipts" folder, Yandex Mail will suggest creating a rule with the Yandex Market email address as the From condition and the action to move the message to the "Receipts" folder.

If necessary, add more conditions and options and then tap Create rule.

Edit a filter

To edit a rule, go to the list of all rules, tap the one you need, and specify new settings.

Note

Some rules created on the computer can't be edited in the Yandex Mail app. In the rules list, they are marked as Can only be edited on a computer. You can edit them in the Yandex Mail web interface.

Disable or delete a filter

Tap a filter in the filter list and then tap Disable or Delete in the top right corner.
