Reading messages

Read a message

Log in to your mailbox and tap the email you want to read. To open an email from another folder, pull the screen to the right and select the folder from the list.

If you have the Yandex.Mail widget installed on your home screen, you can read the email by tapping on its brief description in the widget window.

View sender information

Tap the sender's name to open their contact card. There you can see more information about the sender, such as ways to contact them.

Listen to a message

If you're in a rush and have difficulty reading a message on the go, you can listen to it:

  1. Open the message.
  2. Tap in the lower-right corner of the screen.
To turn on voice control:
  1. Pull the screen to the right.
  2. Tap Settings (under the list of folders and labels).
  3. Enable Voice control and select the language to use for voice control.

Reply to a message using suggestions

In some cases, Yandex.Mail may suggest quick responses to incoming emails. To use this feature:

  1. Pull the screen from the left border.
  2. Tap Settings (under the list of folders and labels).
  3. Enable the Smart replies option.
  4. Open the email you want to reply to or find it in the notifications list.
  5. Select one of the suggested reply options (if any) under the email content.
Note. The function doesn't work with emails from automated mailing lists.

Download attachments

Open the email and tap the image of the attached file.

Translate a message

To translate the message text into the selected language:

  1. Turn on Translation in the app settings.
  2. Open the message.
  3. After selecting the target language for translation, tap Translate above the message text.

Apply a label

  1. Open the message.
  2. Tap the icon on the right side of the screen.
  3. Tap Mark as.
  4. Select a label.
  5. Click Done.

Forward email

  1. Open the message.
  2. Tap the icon on the right side of the screen.
  3. Tap Forward.

Move an email to another folder

  1. Open the message.
  2. Tap the icon on the right side of the screen.
  3. Tap Move to folder.
  4. Select the folder you want to move the email to.

Delete email

  1. Open the message.
  2. Tap the icon on the right side of the screen.
  3. Click Delete.

If you're using a tablet, tap the icon next to the sender's name.

Attention. If you tap the icon at the top of the screen, all the emails in the conversation will be deleted.

You can also delete a message directly from the email list.

Problems with incoming email

Messages have disappeared from the mailbox

If you accidentally deleted your messages, or your messages have disappeared, try searching for them in the Trash folder (messages in this folder are available for 30 days after being deleted). To recover your emails:

  1. Go to the Trash folder.
  2. Select an email or multiple emails. To select a message, tap the sender's profile picture in the message bar.
  3. Tap  → Move to folder .
  4. Select the folder you want to move the email to.

If you can't find your missing emails in the Trash folder, it probably means there's no way to recover them.

If you didn't delete the messages, follow these steps:

  1. In the Yandex.Mail web interface, go to the Yandex.Mail log and see the information about your mailbox activities over the past week.
  2. Change your password in your Yandex ID settings. Make sure you comply with email security rules.
  3. Make sure you're not using any apps that can delete emails. If a program that uses the POP3 protocol is installed on your phone, specify in its settings that you want to save email copies on the server when downloading emails.
I don't receive messages from social networks or forums
Attention. If you created a Yandex account after registering on a social media site or a forum, you won't receive a confirmation email. You will need to request the email from the website again.

If you you're not receiving a confirmation email after registering on a social media site or a forum, follow these steps:

  1. Make sure you entered the correct email address.
  2. Make sure that your message filters don't contain a filter that deletes these types of emails. (You can disable or delete such a filter only in the Yandex.Mail web interface.)
  3. Make sure that the social network or forum email address is not blacklisted (You can remove a website address from the blacklist only in the Yandex.Mail web interface.)

If you are sure that the mailbox settings and the email address are correct, try requesting the confirmation email from the website again. If the message does not arrive within a few hours, please contact site administration.

  2. Select Help and support under the list of folders.
  3. Select Problem.
  4. Select a subject.
  5. Describe your problem in as much detail as possible.
