New message notifications

You can use any of the methods below to learn that you have received a new message.

With a pop-up notification inside a browser

You can receive notifications about new messages as soon as they reach your mailbox. You'll see such notifications even if the Yandex Mail tab is closed.

Note. Pop-up notifications are supported by the following browsers: Yandex (16.6 and later), Google Chrome (52 and later), and Mozilla Firefox (46 and later).

Select your browser:

Enable notifications in Yandex Mail:

In the upper-right corner, click → All settings.
Choose Other.
Click Show new message notifications in browser in Notifications.
Select the folders you want to configure notifications for.
Save changes.

Afterwards, you will see an automatic message in the browser:

To disable notifications, click Allow in the automatic message https://mail.yandex.ru requires user consent to display notifications.
Save changes.

I clicked “Block” by mistake

Enable notifications manually:

Open → Settings in the browser.
In the menu on the left, click Sites.
Under Requests to send notifications, select Show requests.
Under Notifications, click Other sites.
Find the line with the value https://mail.yandex.com: 443, select it, and click the link to the right that says Allow.

I closed the message by mistake

Enable notifications manually:

Open → Settings in the browser.
In the menu on the left, click Sites.
Under Requests to send notifications, select Show requests.
Under Notifications, click Other sites.
On the Allowed tab, click Add in the upper-right corner.
Enter the Yandex Mail site address https://mail.yandex.com:443.
Click Add.

Enable notifications in Yandex Mail:

In the upper-right corner, click → All settings.
Choose Other.
Click Show new message notifications in browser in Notifications.
Select the folders you want to configure notifications for.
Save changes.

Afterwards, you will see an automatic message in the browser:

In the automatic message that says https://mail.yandex.ru requires user consent to display notifications, click Allow.
Save changes.
I clicked “Block” by mistake
Enable notifications manually:

Click Privacy and security in the menu on the left.

Click Site settings.

Go to Notifications.

In the Block list, find the line with the value https://mail.yandex.com:443. Click → Allow next to the line.
I closed a message by mistake
Enable notifications manually:

Open → Settings in the browser.

Click Privacy and security in the menu on the left.

Click Site settings.

Go to Notifications.

In the Allow list, click Add.

Enter the Yandex Mail site address https://mail.yandex.com:443.

Click Add.

Enable notifications in Yandex Mail:

In the upper-right corner, click → All settings.
Choose Other.
Click Show new message notifications in browser in Notifications.
Select the folders you want to configure notifications for.
Save changes.

Afterwards, you will see an automatic message in the browser:

in the automatic message that says Will you allow mail.yandex.ru to send notifications? choose Allow Notifications.
Save changes.
I clicked “Never Allow” by mistake
Enable notifications manually:

Open → Settings.

Go to the Privacy & Security tab.

Find the Permissions section.

In the Notifications line, click Parameters.

Select https://mail.yandex.com in the list of sites. Change its status to Allow.

Save changes.

With a mobile device

You can stay updated on your inbox with your mobile device by visiting the mobile version of the website or installing the app for Android and iOS.

With another email address

If you have multiple email addresses, you can set up sending notifications about new messages in Yandex Mail at a different email address.
