# 1.3. Moderating edits from Yandex Map Editor

Any map item that is created or changed on Yandex Map Editor must pass moderation to ensure that everything is accurate.

Items are added to [Yandex Maps](https://yandex.com/maps/) and other Yandex services only once they are approved by the moderator.

Yandex Map Editor **moderators** play a major role in this process.

They not only draw and make their own edits, but also work with Yandex employees to check a significant number of edits made by other users. This ensures that edits made on their territories are correct.
