Resource management

In Yandex Advertising Network terms, a video resource is a group of video ad placements on the same platform.

Enabling ads in videos

  1. Register with the Yandex Advertising Network.
  2. Submit a support request to show ads in your videos. To learn more about becoming a video partner, see New partners.

Once you enable video ads, you can start manually adding your video resources.

Adding a video resource

  1. In the Yandex Advertising Network interface, go to Video adsVideo resources.

  2. Click Add video resource.

  3. Fill out the fields in the General section:

    • Name: Specify the name to display for the resource in the YAN interface.
    • Site address: Specify the URL of the site hosting the video resource.
    • VPAID/MRAID support: If your resource supports this ad type, keep this option enabled. If not, you can disable it.
  4. If needed, set up the player's appearance:

    • Descriptive text: A text to show at the beginning of an ad directly in the player (for example: Thanks to this ad, you can view this video for free).
    • Time left in ad unit: Enable to show the ad countdown.
    • Time left until ad skip: Set the countdown duration before skipping becomes available.
  5. Click Create.

Once you create a video resource, a video unit setup page opens — you can start adding ad units right away.

The video platform will be automatically submitted for moderation. Impressions will begin once you pass moderation and set up ad units.

Note

Each resource can host up to 200 active ad units. Move unused units to the archive. If you need to use more than 200 units on one resource, contact support.

Customizing player appearance

To customize the appearance of the player on your resource:

  1. Go to Video adsVideo resources.
  2. Click Edit next to the video resource you want to edit.
  3. Go to the Appearance settings.

If you're using the Yandex video player, set the following options:

  • Descriptive text: A text to show at the beginning of an ad directly in the player (for example: Thanks to this ad, you can view this video for free).
  • Time left in ad unit: Enable to show the ad countdown.
  • Time left until ad skip: Set the countdown duration before skipping becomes available.

Granting access to a resource

You can grant any user access to your video resources through the Yandex Advertising interface. A user with the Partner's assistant role will be able to view and edit the resource and units, and will also have access to statistical reports.

  1. Click Invite on the Invitations page, select an invitation language and specify your email address. A link to access the interface will be emailed to that address. Please note that the assistant requires Yandex ID in order to register in the Yandex Advertising.

  2. Once the assistant clicks the link and signs up:

    1. Go to Video adsVideo resources.
    2. Find the resource you want to grant access to in the list and click <sodipodi:namedview id="svg-ld4vuczb__namedview2803" pagecolor="#ffffff" bordercolor="#000000" borderopacity="0.25" inkscape:showpageshadow="2" inkscape:pageopacity="0.0" inkscape:pagecheckerboard="0" inkscape:deskcolor="#d1d1d1" showgrid="false" inkscape:zoom="25.732538" inkscape:cx="14.90331" inkscape:cy="8.5106257" inkscape:window-width="1920" inkscape:window-height="1017" inkscape:window-x="-8" inkscape:window-y="-8" inkscape:window-maximized="1" inkscape:current-layer="i-ua1"/> → Edit.
    3. In the Access settings, enter the login your assistant used to register with the Yandex Advertising Network.
    4. Click Add.

If needed, check the Allow changes to video resource settings box to enable the user to modify resource settings, as well as create and edit ad units. In addition, any assistant can view the statistics on all the available ad resources and units, as well as create and save custom statistical reports.
