Additional unit settings

Actions with units

The following actions are available in the list of units in the menu:

  • Edit: Edit the unit settings.

  • Duplicate: Create another unit in the list of units with the same settings but with a different ID.

  • Send to archive: Send the unit to the archive. To restore it, find the unit using the status filter, and click Restore.

    Note

If a unit has the The block was created in Adfox  icon, then you can only archive it through the Adfox interface.

Location-based ad serving

You can restrict impressions for site users from a certain region:

  1. On the site page or in the general list of units, find the unit and open its settings.

  2. Go to Regions.

  3. In the region tree, select one or more regions. Set the CPMV floor in rubles or in the selected currency without VAT in the CPMV field. The CPMV floor of a higher-level region is automatically applied to all its nested regions.

To completely prohibit impressions in a region, select the region and choose the Block option.

Displaying your own ads

By adding custom ad tag to an ad unit code, you can install a stub in case the auction has no suitable offer to serve. The number of impressions you get for your ad depends on the restrictions configured for the unit: CPM floor, impression geography, and unwanted ads blocked.

Alert

Don't use the code of other ad units as the custom ad code. For more flexible site monetization options, use Adfox.

To configure ad serving for your custom ad:

  1. On the site page or in the general list of units, find the unit and click Edit.

  2. On the Custom code tab, add the code to the Code field.

  3. Specify the size of your ad unit. The code snippet for displaying your ad will be generated and added to the ad unit code automatically.

  4. Save your changes. You don't need to reinstall the code on your site.

If the auction finds no suitable offer based on the unit settings, your custom ad tag is run. The ad will be shown in place of the ad unit using iframe.

The impression of your custom ad is counted if at least 50% of the unit area is in the viewable area of the screen for at least two seconds. The number of impressions is shown in the Yandex Advertising Network reports under Own ad views.

There's yet another method to set up your ad display: you can add your ad tag to the ad unit code when placing the ad unit on the site.

Note

Yandex Advertising Network units created from Adfox cannot have a custom ad code. If no suitable Yandex Advertising Network ad was picked for this unit, the request is returned to Adfox and the right to serve ads passes to other demand platforms or custom promo campaigns.
