Using email clients
We recommend using Yandex Mail via the web interface at mail.yandex.com, the web application, or the official mobile app. This gives you access to functionality that isn't available in email clients, such as delayed emails, reminders, and easy attachment of files from Yandex Disk.
If the web interface and application don't meet the requirements of your organization, you can work with corporate mail via email clients. To do this, you need to enable email protocols and send users instructions for setup.
Enabling email protocols
To allow email clients to connect to Yandex servers and exchange mail with them, you need to enable one of the dedicated mail protocols.
-
Go to admin.yandex.ru and select Email → Settings.
-
Under Use these protocols, select the protocols you want to use. If you're not sure which one to select, enable IMAP.
Tip
If your employees don't use email clients, keep both protocols enabled — this will be the correct approach security-wise.
User instructions
You can find setup instructions for different email clients in the user guide.
Please note that the instructions only cover the connection via the IMAP protocol.
You can use the web application to access your mailbox via the convenient web interface of Yandex Browser. To learn more about using it, see Help for Yandex Browser.
Yandex Mail has an app for iOS and Android. Download
A two-way protocol for receiving messages from the mail server. Messages and folders are stored on the server and synchronized with the email client, giving you the option to access your email on different devices. We recommend using the IMAP protocol for Yandex Mail.
