Creating an event

  1. Tap in the upper-right corner of the screen.

  2. Give the event a name and add a description.

  3. Specify the time and date. If this is a recurring meeting, choose when to repeat the event. If the participants are from another time zone, you can set their time zone for the event.

  4. Add participants. If you want someone to attend the meeting, specify them in the Participants field. If the name of the invited person appears in red, it means they're busy at that time.
For people who are welcome but not required at the meeting, add them to the Optional participants field.
If an invited user can't join the event because their calendar schedule is occupied at the time, a Busy or Probably busy warning will appear under their address.

  5. For remote participants, you can create a meeting in Yandex Telemost by enabling the Video meeting option.

If you're an employee of the Yandex 360 for Business organization, you'll be able to manage the participants' access during a video meeting. For example, you can turn off their microphones. If you're hosting a large meeting, add moderators to help you manage the video meeting. Only an employee of your organization can be a moderator. To control user access to the meeting, use waiting rooms: For all participants or For external participants. This way, the participants can join the meeting only after the organizer or moderator lets them in.

    Note

If you enable the For external participants waiting room, then only users with accounts on the organization's domain will be able to join the meeting. The organizer and moderators will be able to let other participants in.

  6. Specify the location. If you're an employee of a Yandex 360 for Business organization, you can book a meeting room (available if you're working from a domain account and your organization has an active Optimal or Advanced plan).

  7. You can attach files to be used at the meeting. The other participants will have access to them. Those files will be automatically uploaded to the Meeting files folder of your Yandex Disk.

    Note

Only Yandex Calendar users can see the attached files (participants using Gmail or Outlook won't see them). Any file you remove from a meeting remains on Yandex Disk.

  8. Set the time and method of notification:

  9. To receive notifications about events for which you've left the invitation unanswered, enable the option Notify about events that haven't been accepted. This may come in handy when you don't have time to check your email or swipe the invitation away by mistake. When this option is enabled, you'll receive a notification about the upcoming meeting, so you won't miss it. Notifications will also promptly inform you about any event changes or cancellations.

  10. Specify event access permissions in the Access section. You can permit participants to edit your event and invite other users.

  11. Click in the upper-right corner of your screen.

You can always edit an event after creating it.

Push notifications

You can configure notifications in the Yandex Mail app:

  1. Go to the event creation or editing tab.
  2. Under Notifications, tap Add one more notification.
  3. Select Custom.
  4. Select how notifications should be delivered. For push notifications, select By app.

I can't create events

If you got an error message, it means that our security system finds your account suspicious. Possible reasons are that there's no phone number linked to your account or that the full name in your account is fictitious.

As such, you'll be temporarily blocked from creating events in Yandex Calendar. To resolve this issue, please provide accurate information in your account settings and link your phone number on the Phone numbers page. The block will be automatically lifted.
