Frequency

  1. General settings
  2. Impression settings
  3. Click settings

With targeting by frequency, you can set up restrictions for a campaign or banner based on impressions and clicks for a specific user.

For example, don't show the banner more than twice a day or pause impressions if the user has already clicked on the link on the banner.

The settings are changed on the Targeting → Frequency tab.

General settings

Maximum number of impressions to the user
Any unique browser will see the banners of this campaign no more than this number of times until it stops running. This is provided that it hasn't exhausted the limit of the Maximum number of clicks per user parameter.
Maximum number of clicks per user
The number of clicks that a user can make during the entire time the campaign is active.
Period start date
The value will become active if a period of 14 days or more is used in the impression or click settings.

For example, there are three sections on the site. There is a limit for the entire campaign: Maximum number of impressions = 10, Maximum number of clicks= 6.

Targeting by frequency hasn't been redefined for the site.

For section 1, there are 5 impressions and 3 clicks.

For section 2, there are 5 impressions and 3 clicks.

For section 3: not redefined.

As a result of these settings, we get a total of 20 impressions and 12 clicks. This is because in sections 1 and 2 the campaign will run as redefined for these sections. But there is still section 3 that will inherit the campaign limits (10/6).
