Polls

You can create polls in group chats and channels. The polls can be public or anonymous, have one or several response options. Any member can see the results, and if the poll is public, download them as a file.

How to create a poll

  1. Open the chat.
  2. Hover over the  icon (or tap it on your mobile device).
  3. Choose  Create poll.
  4. Enter a topic of the poll (maximum 140 characters).
  5. Polls have two response options by default, but you can change their number and order:

    • Press Add option to add one more responses. A poll can have from 1 to 10 response options.
    • Press  to delete a response option.
    • Press and hold  to move a response up or down.

    Be sure to complete all the options.

  6. Enable or disable the options:

    • Anonymous voting keeps responses a secret.
    • Multiple responses so that the members can choose multiple options at once.
    • Mark as important to send chat members a notification and label the survey as Important.
  7. Press Create poll.

Voting

In anonymous polls, the author doesn't know which answer you voted for. You see Anonymous poll under the name of such polls.

With one response option
Select a response.
With multiple response options
Select one or more options and press Vote.

If you want to change your vote, tap the poll (right-click on a PC), select Revote, and vote again.

View results

Note. You have to vote first to view the results of the poll.

For each response, you'll see a number of people who voted for it and the percentage.

You can also view members who voted for each option. To do this, press View results at the bottom of the survey.

To download the results as a file, press View results and then on a computer or Open XLSX file on a mobile device.
